The way I practice focuses on my own unique blend of psychology, spirituality and practical tools for living with moment-to-moment aliveness, inner ease, and joy — regardless of your outer life circumstances.

I work primarily with older adults sorting through issues related to the aging process, such as:
Transitioning to retirement, or back out of it
Finding new sources of enjoyment and meaning
Leaving a legacy you can be proud of
Getting the most out of each moment while navigating challenging waters and new potentials
Facing your fears about death and dying
Dealing with medical conditions and the impact they have on your whole self
Adjusting to the deaths of friends, peers, and partners
Navigating your own grief
Finding new support systems and avoiding isolation in the wake of losing loved ones
Taking care of your own needs and well-being while caring for aging loved ones
I understand you spent part of your career as an ordained Methodist minister. Will you be preaching to me?
No. Pastoral counseling is about respecting each person's individual spiritual beliefs, whatever they may be. Whether you're Catholic, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, or Atheist, your beliefs will be respected. It's part of my mission is to help you grow into the fullest version of yourself that you can be, not to preach.
Where do we meet?
If you live in southern Arizona, we can meet in my home office in midtown Tucson — a bright, beautiful and private sanctuary. If you don't live nearby, we can meet via phone or video chat (Skype, Facetime or Google+).
How often do we meet?
We can met at the frequency we determine to be best for you and your individual needs. A typical scenario is 10 weekly sessions, followed by a review of our progress and a discussion of whether you would like to continue beyond that.
Will my insurance cover my counseling?
I've opted out of the insurance model. However, I'm always willing to work with you on a sliding fee scale to make sure that your counseling is affordable for you.
Can I get an appointment right away?
In most cases, I can schedule your first appointment within a week.
