Travel Writing for Elders and People with Disabilities

I teamed with Rick Steves to co-author a groundbreaking European travel guide for people with limited mobility. My research team combed five centers in Europe (London, Paris, Bruges, Amsterdam and the Rhine Valley) to find the places that were consumer-friendly to Elder slow-walkers and persons with disabilities. My interest in Elderhood combined with Rick's interest in the art and culture of Europe proved to be a winning combination. The book is in its second printing and available at your favorite bookstore.

My first commissioned article on the difference between the Elder and the elderly was published by the Society of Certified Senior Advisors in their quarterly Journal.

This article was a springboard to many speaking engagements around the country where I was invited to share the stories of passionate and vibrant Elders, and how their lives differed from the more typical nursing home model of aging.
